Paul William Osborn, 85, of Sherman, CT, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Village Crest Health Center, New Milford. He was the husband of the late Louise Nelson Osborn who passed away in 2010. Mr. Osborn was born in Danbury, Ct, February 27, 1927, son of the late Edwin F. and Edith Ludington Osborn. He was a graduate of New Milford High School, Class of 1945 and attended University of Connecticut School of Agriculture. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. Mr. Osborn owned and operated Upland Pastures Farm in Sherman in partnership with his brother Emerson Osborn, Sr. After retirement he worked several years for K.W. Rogers, Land Surveyors. A lifelong resident of Sherman, he served many years as a member and chairman of the Board of Tax Review for the Town of Sherman, and was a charter member of the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department. He was a lifelong member and Deacon Emeritus of the Sherman Congregational Church. Mr. Osborn is survived by a son, Glenn Osborn and his wife Martha of Sherman; a daughter, Sara Gardner and her husband Richard of Princeton, MA; a sister, Betty Benny and her husband Bob of Kentucky; five grandchildren, Jason Osborn and his wife Jennifer of Naples, FL, Zachary Osborn of Naples, FL, Isaac Osborn and his wife Katy of Sherman, Erin Broudo and her husband Josh of Beverly, MA, and Noah Gardner and his wife Erin of Foxboro, MA; and four great-grandchildren, Elias and Imogen Osborn of Sherman, Caleb and Zoey Broudo of Beverly, MA. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012, at 11 AM, at the Sherman Congregational Church, Sherman, CT. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Sherman, CT. Arrangements by the Lillis Funeral Home , 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 2969 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518-2556
