Paul Oswalt Obituary

Paul W. Oswalt, Sr.

Florence

Paul W. Oswalt, Sr., 85, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm, Friday, September 16, 2016, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 11:00am, Saturday, September 17, 2016, in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Paul was born June 30, 1931, in Oktibbeha County, to the late John R. and Leona Kimbrell Oswalt. He was a graduate of Mathiston High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.

Paul was the example to his family of hard work and its benefits. I Thessalonians 4:11-12 says, "to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody".

Paul was a quality control inspector for Presto Manufacturing, Siemens-Allis, and Hughes Aircraft of Richland for 39 years. He loved working in his yard, garden and flower beds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Carden, Myrtle Carden, and Etoyle Murphy, and brothers, Johnnie, Harford, and Wayne Oswalt.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Martha Davenport Oswalt; daughter, Lynn Cummings and husband Bob; son, Paul W. Oswalt, Jr. and wife Angie; grandchildren, Laura Cummings, Aubrey Oswalt, and Caden Cole; sister, Mary Alice Shaffer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
