Paul and I shared a few experiences together. The most memorable was training at Camp Hood, Texas from August, 1944 to December 24th, 1944 when we were granted a five "delay in route to visit our family in Bryan. We left Bryan on December 21, 1944 enroute to Europe as replacements for solders lost during the Battle of the Budge. Getting to Bryan, during the night of December 23-24 was especially eventful and was the cause of an long 5 hour taxi ride for about five Bryan'ites that had been in training at Camp Hood. Paul almost aways reminded me of that trip. Our trip to Europe was on the french liner" Ilde de France". Paul was assigned to Third army. I was assigned to Seventh Army. Mission accomplished and returned to Bryan. Thereafter many times we conversed on our WW2 experiences. Rosalie, and family, I join you in missing a GOOD and Godly man. God speed, Paul. I remember him well when he worked at the university Apartments at TAMU. What a wonderful life he lived and such a gracious and kind soul. My sympathy and prayers for his family.

I was saddened on Monday to learn of the passing of "Uncle Paul", the last living of my wife Marian's uncles. Paul was the first of her uncles for me to become familiar with after our engagement, I guess because of our names, and so fitting for me that he was the last to pass. He was blessed with a long and full life.
My condolences to Rosie, to Paul's sister Sally, to Raymond whom I talk with often and the other children and their spouses, and to the extended family.
I pray God's blessings on all.
