I first met Paul in the fall of 1967 at Ferris State College while pledging Theta XI fraternity. We immediately became great friends and fraternity brothers for life. I enjoyed the many spirited conversations we had over the past 55 years. I will miss you my brother! The world lost a great man!

I worked with Paul at two prisons and was tutored by him in fiscal management at both - to the benefit of the Michigan Dunes and Michigan Reformatory. He was a personal friend I loved and professional colleague I respected. When he decided he wanted to be a warden, I worked with the agency to move him into a deputy's position so he would have the experience needed for that next step.

We didn't always agree, but were able to find ways to benefit each facility. Paul stayed in touch when he left Michigan and I always enjoyed his calls. My sympathy to his family and other friends.

Paul and I grew up in Greenbush, Michigan in the early 1950s. Whether cowboys or army guys, we played together every day. The tree fort we built on the south side of the Greenbush Trading Post still has a few boards remaining to this day.

A good guy who always had your back. I'm sorry to see him go. My deep sympathy to the family and close friends.

One of my first memories was watching Paul and my brother, Mike, dressing up and playing cowboys. Paul always seemed on have HS hands in the air. I still have an old photograph of the two of them like that. . My Mother called him P.H. and that was my name for him, too. I treasure the phone calls we share d talking about our "Green bush days". Rest in the arms of the angels, P.H. And my eternal thanks for Rachel.
