What a wonderful, kind man. I remember him coming out to our farm one evening to extract a squash seed out of my ear when I was a little boy. I guess it had started sprouting. Later he owned a farm down the road from ours and would give me a lift home in his beautiful Thunderbird if he saw me walking home after school. I haven't seen him since 1974, but have always thought of him very kindly.

Uncle Paul was a great man and a significant part of our family growing up. As a young girl I have many memories helping in small ways in the clinic in the back of our Drug Store. He was a clever fisherman at the cabin, the voice of reason when many cousins were together and a doctor with tremendous instincts. He taught me to hunt for mushrooms that were safe to eat, hunt for arrowheads and share his love animals. He gave me my first dog (Mollis) a beautiful St. Bernard. He delivered my oldest daughter. How lucky we were to have such a wonderful Uncle. Godspeed.

Dr. Paul will always have a place in my heart, as a young mom to be he always made sure I was okay and I could call him at home, the night my son was born he left his vacation to deliver my son. He was encouraging, loving and kind, you will be missed by so many who's hearts you have touched. Have a beautiful journey...

Dear family,
I remember our visits to you all at your farm in Jordan as a child. Uncle Paul was such a kind and warm person,, and my mom Geanne was so fond of her little brother. She told lots of stories about taking care of Paul and Uncle Jim when they were very small, and some later, more mischievous stories as they got older. I'm so sad that he's gone: the last of that generation: that leaves us as the elder generation now! Wish I could be with you all. But I'm with you in spirit. Love,
Your cousin Marti Richards Tom

Our prayers are with Dr. Stahler's family and with Papa in heaven. He is one of the most gracious and amazing men who has had a wonderful influence on my daughter since kindergarten. Thank you for all you have done for everyone you met. Be happy in heaven with our Lord.
