He was predeceased by their son Brett Taylor and sister Connie Bocklet.

General Weaver joined the USAF in 1967 after graduating from Ithaca College and went on to serve for 35 years, retiring in 2002. He flew many aircraft including the F-4 Phantom and the C-5 Galaxy. He Commanded the 105th Military Airlift Wing for almost 10 years where he oversaw the unit move from Westchester County Airport to Stewart Air National Guard Base and directed the largest military construction program in the Reserve Component and the largest conversion of the Air Forces smallest operational aircraft the O-2 SkyMaster to the largest operational aircraft in the world, the C-5 Galaxy.

General Weaver was amazing and a honor to serve with which began early in my tour as Air National Guard Command Chief when the General was Commander at the 105th Airlift Wing undergoing the conversion to the C-5. We stayed close through my retirement and his time as the Director of the Air National Guard including his much deserved Order of the Sword. General Weaver was a true mentor and true friend even after his retirement. General Weaver gave me tremendous support during a period in my career that I truly needed that support. He will always have my deep respect and gratitude. You will be missed. May You Rest In Peace and your family have comfort and understanding.
Blue Skies.

There is almost not enough time and space to talk about the many times General Weaver and I spent together both professionally and personally. He is without a doubt, one of the more inspiring people that you will ever be privileged to be around. He certainly catapulted my career and was always a commander who was there for his people. What one understands when they spend a significant amount of time with General Weaver is that he is a man of service, a man of great character and a man who will do anything to help others grow in both their life and their careers. I served twice with Paul, once as the Commander of the 105th Medical Unit and as the Air National Guard Assistant to the Air Force Surgeon General. He was always there for a word of encouragement or suggestion for the path forward. I was blessed to be one of the vision care providers that took care of General Weaver and his family. He could instantly switch from General to husband and daddy when the care of his family was involved. He is a giant who walked among us and I certainly am privileged for the steps he had with me in my life.

Major General Weaver was a true Christian gentleman who served our beloved United States honorably. I got to know him through my work at the National Guard Bureau General Officer Management Office. His easy smile, professional ways and frank ways of sharing the problem or situation made him such a pleasure to work with. I look forward to spending eternity with him and all the saints as we go to our heavenly home thanks to Jesus' death and resurrection. May God grant the family an extra measure of peace as they rejoice in his eternal homecoming.

I served General Weaver as one of his Executive Officers while he was the Deputy Director of the Air National Guard at the Pentagon. I count Paul as a mentor, a friend, advisor and confidant. He supported me as I supported him - with trust and dedication to the mission. I tell many stories of Paul especially when I followed his advise to my great benefit - it was never about him; it was always about making me a better officer.
