Paul Ziegenfuss Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 7, 2025.
**Paul A. Ziegenfuss Jr., 84, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on January 4, 2018.**

Paul was born on July 7, 1933, in Oklahoma City. Paul grew up with a sharp mind and a creative spirit that would shape his life's work and passions. After completing his college education at Oklahoma State University, he began his architectural career at HT&B Architecture. His talent and vision soon led him to establish his own architecture firm in Tulsa, where he left an indelible mark on the city's landscape.

Paul designed a wide range of structures-from homes and office buildings to Phillips 66 gas stations-each reflecting his keen eye for detail and functionality. Among his many clients was Oral Roberts, a testament to the trust and respect he earned throughout his career.

Before launching into professional life, Paul served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Sill. It was during this time that he started dating Sally Rowe in nearby Meers. Their connection blossomed into a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Sally left this world on February 9, 2023.

A devoted father, Paul is survived by his daughter Paula Ziegenfuss Cho and son Mark Ziegenfuss. His family remembers him as a loving and intelligent man with a truly unique sense of humor that could light up any room.

Outside of work and family life, Paul had many interests that showcased his diverse talents and joyful spirit. He was an avid bass fisherman who found peace on the water; a skilled woodworker and builder who could bring ideas to life with his hands; and a passionate baseball fan who never missed a chance to enjoy the game.

Each Christmas season, Paul delighted friends and family by making generous batches of homemade peanut brittle-a tradition that became one of his most beloved legacies. He also had an eye for art collecting and appreciated beauty in all its forms.

A spirit-filled Christian, Paul attended First Methodist Church in Tulsa where he found community and spiritual grounding throughout his life.

In keeping with his humor and adventurous heart, Paul requested that his ashes be placed into the Port of Catoosa so he might finally make it to Mexico-a final journey befitting a man who lived life with imagination and wit.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who were touched by his presence.
