Paula C. Coburn

Paula Chaffee Coburn passed away July 15 2015, in Campbell, CA, succumbing to cancer. She was 58 years old. Paula was born in 1957, in New Britain, CT, and graduated from Simsbury High School in 1975. Her interest in the creative arts led to Parsons School of Design from which she graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. She resided in Brooklyn, NY for several years, and relocated to Hartford, CT, where she worked as a fine artist. Paula's medium ranged from oil and acrylic, to water color and pencil drawings. Her favorite subjects were female portraitures, family groups, and abstract landscapes. Over her career, Paula's work was featured in numerous gallery shows and exhibits. Paula was a wonderful and animated storyteller, with her own unique take on historical events. She was a cat enthusiast as well as an avid fan of classic Hollywood movies, and enjoyed chatting about any and all entertainment-related topics. Paula is survived by her sisters: Laura Coburn of Campbell, CA; Amy Coburn of Albuquerque, NM; Natalie Coburn of McLean, VA; as well as her brother Peter Coburn of Lafayette, CO. Her survivors also include several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Her parents, Raymond and Doris Coburn of Simsbury, CT, preceded her in death. Her family will celebrate Paula and her artwork in a private ceremony. In Paula's memory, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
