Paula Kamau Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 9, 2024.
Paula L. Kamau (née Donahue), aged 72, passed away on October 5, 2024, in Boston, Massachusetts. Born on July 29, 1952, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late James and Louise Donahue (D'Ambrosio).

Paula was cherished for her vivacious spirit and her unwavering dedication to her family. She was particularly adored by her children and grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. Paula's selflessness and generosity touched everyone she met, and her witty humor and positive energy were truly infectious. She had an exceptional ability to uplift everyone around her, making each family gathering brighter and more memorable.

She leaves behind a loving family: her son Nicolas Pierce and daughter-in-law Elene, daughter Nancy Pierce and son-in-law Brandon DeSilva, son David Pierce and daughter-in-law Melissa, all of Haverhill. Paula was a proud grandmother to Katerina, Athina, Dylan, Layla, Kyle, and Zoey. She also leaves her brothers James Donahue and wife Joan of Medford, Andrew Donahue and wife Marie of Reading, and Joe Donahue and wife Roberta of Chicago, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Paula had a passion for cooking, decorating, shopping, solving crossword puzzles and activities that brought great joy to her and her family and friends.

In line with her wishes, there will be no public services. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life. The family expresses their gratitude for the support and asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to a charity of one's choice in Paula's memory.

We all loved Paula. She was a wonderful mother and great family member. I met her when she first met Tommy and we all hung out together a lot. One time we had a family.party and Paula made a lasagna. It was the biggest tray of lasagna I had ever seen. It was delicious, she was a fabulous cook! She will be missed by all.

My thoughts and prayers for the Donahue Family on their loss! I was glad to have spoken to Paula about a week ago. She was her regular upbeat self and just so grateful and happy to tell me about her "wonderful children and grandchildren." She was resigned to her fate but willing to fight. We spent over an hour reminiscing about the years in Somerville and visits to JP and memories of her LOVING aunts, uncles and cousins!
