I still miss Dr. Kernberg and think of her often. I remember how hard she fought against her illness and how strong she always was.
She was more than a boss to me. She was a mentor, a mother figure and someone I looked up to more than any other older adult in my life. She loved those close to her and was the best child psychiatrist - developing unprecedented techniques to help children. She helped my son as a child out of care and concern for me and my family.
Dr. Kernberg will forever be in my family's heart. We will never forget her.
