Pauline C. Caserta, 76, of Venetia, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. She was born Aug. 1, 1932, in Venetia, a daughter of Edward and Helen (Ulijas) Zaft. Mrs. Caserta was retired as a secretary with Koppers Corporation in Pittsburgh. She also worked as a teller at the former First National Bank of Finleyville and as a lab technician at Foto Hut in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Caserta was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville, its Christian Mothers and the Ladies Guild. She also was a member of the Book Club of St. Francis and the AARP of Monongahela. Mrs. Caserta enjoyed line dancing, reading, sewing, traveling, playing bingo and being a loving grandmother. She is survived by her husband, James Caserta; two daughters, Dianne Adrian and husband Jon, of Jefferson Hills, and Donna Hillman and husband Marvin, of Venetia; two sisters, Bertha Geltz and Margaret Smail, both of New Eagle; five grandchildren: Danielle and Nicole Adrian, Gwen StCyr and husband Heth, Amy Taylor and husband Gene, and Jessica Caserta; and six great-grandchildren, Mason, Kelly, Tanner and Luke StCyr and Leilani and Nailah Jones. Deceased are two sons, Terry and Jamie Caserta; one brother, Edmund Zaft; and one sister, Emma Buzzeo. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at KEGEL FUNERAL HOME INC., Tim P. Kegel, Supervisor, 3560 Washington Ave., Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 3609 Washington Ave., Finleyville, with the Rev. Robert J. Boyle as celebrant. Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Pauline Caserta?s name to the charity of one?s choice.
