Pauline Jordan Phillips Services for Pauline Jordan Phillips, 88, of Coolidge, are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Temple Baptist Church. The Rev. Terry Webb and Rev. Robert Tilson will officiate and interment is in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips died Aug. 30 at her residence. Born April 30, 1921, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late John Alexander and Jewell Johnson Jordan. On Nov. 21, 1941, she married Charlie Thomas Phillips, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2006 after 64 years of marriage. She dedicated 57 years of her life taking care of her son, Jerry, who had Cerebral Palsy. She and her husband kept him home all those years ministering to his needs. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Larry and Hazel Phillips of Baconton and Johnny Lee and Lucy Phillips of Moultrie; daughter, Brenda Gail Garren of Coolidge; daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine "Deanie" and Danny Wilson of Coolidge and Deborah Jewell and George Collier of Metcalfe; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joe and Bobbie Jordan of Pavo, Walter Jordan of Ochlocknee, Eulis and Ellen Jordan of Lee, Fla., Juanita Burns of Thomasville, Viola Sterling of Cordele and Tiny and Marion Blackburn of Moultrie; and aunt, Etta Johnson of Moultrie. She was preceded in death by sons, Gerald Phillips and Jerry Phillips; great-grandchildren, Gary Royal and Larry Royal; brother, Willie Alexander Jordan; and sister, Eula Jordan. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com. ALLEN & ALLEN FUNERAL HOME
