Pauline Shumate Pauline Shumate, 85 of Beckley went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 28, 2012. Born May 6, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Francis Marion and Mae Cheek Baldridge. Pauline enjoyed gardening, eating at Captain D's and going to the movies, but the true joy of her life was her family. She enjoyed watching Dr. Charles Stanley. Pauline was a long time care giver for Dr. and Mrs. Siddiqi. Our mother gave unselfishly to us and will live forever in our hearts. In addition to her parents, Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Shumate; 2 brothers, Sonny Conley and Jack Baldridge, Mommy Cheek and her Uncle Jeff. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jeannie Powers and husband Kenny of Marietta, GA, Michael Donell and wife Kathy of Beckley, Eddie "Speedy" Donell and wife Maxine of Midway, Danny Donell and wife Patty of Beckley; 11 grandchildren, Roger, Edward, Pauline, Michael, Marie, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Jackie, Michelle, Rachel and Mark; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Eulene Moracle of Edgerton, Dixie Baldridge of Beckley, Flora Brown of Kernersville, NC, siblings, Elmer (Buddy) Conley of Payne, OH, Lee Knicely of Paulding, OH, Harold Conley, Donald Baldridge, of Flatwoods, KY, Frank Baldridge, of Inez, KY, Gale Durben of Mansfield, OH, Justine Daniels of Paulding, OH, Moncie Johnson of Paulding, OH, Junior and Judy of Mansfield, OH. She shared a very special relationship with three of her great-grandchildren and an especially close bond with her great-granddaughter, Alexis. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Rev. Brian Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family Saturday from 10 – 11 AM at the funeral home.
