Pauline SWIDERSKI Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal on Feb. 3, 2015.
SWIDERSKI, Pauline Adele
With profound sadness, we regret to announce that our dear beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Pauline passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2015 after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. Although our hearts are broken, and we will miss her dearly, we take comfort in knowing that she is now in God's care, where she will be free of all pain and suffering as she enjoys eternal life in heaven with all who have departed from this world.
Pauline is survived by her loving husband, Peter; her daughter, Janice Rossetti; her son Jason (Darlene) Swiderski; 4 grandchildren, Jordyn, Aimée, Talon, and Tek; her sisters and brothers, Julie (Chuck) Oullette, Guy (Irene) Van Brabant, Pierre (Linda) Van Brabant, Lorraine (Leo Feser) Foisy, Raymond Van Brabant, and Jackie (Vic) Williams, Murielle (Paul) Kiervin, Suzanne (Rick) MacKintyre; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Aimé and Fernande Van Brabant, and 3 brothers, Laurent, Tony, and Remi.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, South of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park. If desired, donations in memory of Pauline may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute.

Dear Peter, Jason, Darlene, Janice and family
It is with heavy hearts we express our deepest sympathy and sorrow for the loss of Pauline. Everyone who knew her has the same thought to share . . . “she was beautiful inside and out”. We will forever cherish all our conversations and good times with her. Always smiling even though she was fighting a battle – a battle with strength, courage and determination . . . she fought hard and had her family with her every bit of the way. Her legacy will live on forever through all of you as it is very evident the bond you all share. Although it is difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back at all the beautiful moments bring comfort for you tomorrow. You are all in our thoughts and prayers . . . Dear Peter,

This is a difficult moment and I wish to express my sympathy. I write these words to express feelings of sadness and to say that my thoughts are with you, Jason and Janice. Pauline was for me, not only your bride that I had the pleasure of photographing on your wedding day, but a beautiful and happy person I have known her to be. I will remember her as a generous, kind, and good mother to your children. At your table, her cooking was always a delicious experience with often some baking for me to take home. But... I wish to add, with a touch of humour, that it is also for her help with the children's soft cotton diapers that she gave me to wrap my sculptures that I will remember her. The soft cotton has protected my polished bronzes sculptures from scratches when going at that time to Madison Square Garden for exhibition. As I write these words... I seem to hear her laughing from up high!!!

Peter, Janice and Jason... my sincere condolences but at the same time, the joy of her eternal continuity. Pauline lives in our thoughts and remembered. Jean-Guy (John) Dallaire, Vancouver.

Words can not even express how saddened we are for all of you. Pauline and I had a special bond. and spent hours talking over the course of her journey. She was amazing and a real trouper and you as her family were devoted to her to the very end. She spoke often of how loved and cherished she felt by all of you. I can't even imagine not dropping in for a chat or seeing her walk by with her always present smile. She truly was loved by so many at our summer home.

Arden and I will continue to pray for you, that you will be strengthened and encouraged in the days to come.

We send our condolences and love.

Dear Peter, Jason and Janice and families,
I was so saddened to learn of Pauline's passing. She was such an inspiration to me and I marveled at how someone going through such difficulty could still smile the way she did. Her eyes still sparkled when I saw her just over a week ago. I also marveled at the way all 3 of you stood by her side and displayed such unconditional love and devotion to your wife and mother. You've done her so proud! It was so heartwarming to see all of you go through this journey together, side by side. Praying for all of you as your grieve the loss of someone so special.
