It is with great sadness that the family of Peggie Marie Kotelko announce her passing on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at her home at the age of 63 years. Peggie was born to John and Toni Katerynych on December 5, 1953 in Humboldt, SK. Peggie took her schooling in Radisson, SK, and in Grade 9 moved to Saskatoon. She graduated from Holy Cross in 1971. Peggie enrolled in the SIAST Nursing Program and graduated in 1973 as an RN. Peggie worked numerous places including, Rosthern and Saskatoon, and she finished her career working for HomeCare in Saskatoon and Wakaw. Peggie married Bernie August 10, 1974. They moved to the Kotelko farm in 1975. They welcomed their daughter Kristyn December 19, 1980 and Lindsay on July 18, 1982. After her retirement, Peggie travelled with her husband and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and fur babies. Peggie is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bernie; loving children, daughter, Kristyn (Mark) Ingram and grandchildren, Halle, Heidi, and Isobel; daughter, Lindsay Kotelko (Nigel Boschman); brothers, Bob (Carla), Cheney (Jan); sister, Sandra (Charles); and numerous nieces and nephews. Peggie was predeceased by her parents, John and Toni. Prayers for Peggie will be held at Park Funeral Home, 311 Third Avenue North, on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1202 11th Street East on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with celebrants Rev. Fr. Leonid Malkov, CSsR and Rev. Fr. Terry Lozynsky. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, in Peggie's memory please donate to your favorite charity. Bernie and girls; It has been many years since I have had contact with any of you, but I still treasure our days in Alvena and your friendship during that time. I always enjoyed getting together to paint with Peggie, Shirley and Marlene, as well as being on the library board together. We had some really fun times. Dear Bernie and family
I am so greatly saddened to learn that Peggie passed away.
She was a good friend to me for most of our 63 years. We shared many adventures together including nursing school and our first jobs as nursing students.
Peggie was always a supportive,concerned and caring friend. When I had eye surgery, she was almost more concerned about me recovering eye sight than I was.
Over the years she brightened many days for me with her e-mail jokes and sayings.
Rest in peace my good friend.
