Obituary

Perry Bunde Marilyn J. BundePerry Bunde, age 80, and Marilyn J. Bunde, age 51, residents of McVille, ND, died in an automobile accident on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Lakota, ND. Perry was born October 31, 1924 at McVille, ND, the son of Alfred and Selma (Hanson) Bunde. He was raised on his parents farm and attended school in the area. As a young man, he began farming with his parents, and eventually took over the farming operation. He farmed in the McVille area his entire life. Marilyn Jean Olson was born November 27, 1953 at Michigan, ND, the daughter of Lloyd and Marie (Asunma) Olson. She was raised and educated in the Brocket / Whitman area, graduating Michigan High School in 1971. Following her graduation, Marilyn lived and worked in McVille until the time of her death. She worked for 14  years at the Nelson County Health System Care Center. She began to volunteer at the swing bed program at McVille in 1996. She continued to volunteer her time with the activities at the Care Center, and also volunteered many hours with the hospice program and at the school in McVille. Marilyn married Perry on May 23, 1987 at the rural Center Lutheran Church, and they were happily married for 18 years. A few years ago, Marilyn proudly set up the Marilyn Bunde Nursing Scholarship, which is awarded every year to area students pursuing a medical career. She has been a member of the Auxiliary Unit of the Ole Semling American Legion Post # 135 at McVille. Marilyn assisted many people in McVille by driving them to various appointments. She delivered the Fargo Forum and loved angels, as she received many as gifts. Marilyn and Perry were members of the McVille Lutheran Church, and were very active with the Nelson County Historical Society and the events at Stump Lake. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Nelson County Health System Foundation. Perry is survived by his cousins. Marilyn is survived by her mother, Marie Olson of Lakota, ND; 3 sisters, Debbie (Dana) Grow of Grand Forks, ND, Kerry (Kevin) Rysavy of Lakota, ND, and Kelly (Richard) Jerombeck of Grand Forks, ND; 3 nephews, Terry Rysavy, Travis Rysavy, and Nathan Jerombeck; an aunt, Linda (Eugene) Roerick; an uncle, Gordon (Susan) Olson; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father; a brother; and her grandparents. The Funeral Service for Perry and Marilyn will be held at McVille Lutheran Church of McVille, ND, on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the McVille Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota, ND.
