He also earned his Master Parachutist Badge and Combat Infantry Badge. He retired from the Army with the rank of Captain. To the family and friends of Sir Knight Pete Arnold, Captain (Ret.) USA:

Today, as a final tribute to our brother Sir Knight Peter, the officers and members of Knights of Columbus Saint Philippine Duchesne Assembly #2260 in Olathe, of which SK Peter was a member at the time of his passing in August, 2015 presented a memorial chalice to a newly ordained priest, Father Augustin Martinez at Prince of Peace church in Okathe, Kansas.

The chalice is engraved with the names of SK Peter and those of two other deceased Sir Knights who were also members of our Assembly and who also passed away between 7/1/2015 and 6/30/2016, which is our fraternal year. Both other Sir Knights were priests, so SK Peter is in good company!

Father Augustin will use the chalice as he celebrates daily mass during his priesthood. May God bless and enrich him!

The Fourth Degree is the highest degree of our order and its principle is Patriotism. That is appropriate for SK Peter who, among other things during his full life was a true warrior patriot.

We hope that the fact that this memorial chalice will be a part of daily mass with Father Augustin for many years to come and with it, the names of the three Sir Knights will be included as a part of that daily celebration will be a comfort to the families of the deceased Sir Knights including SK Peter.

May Sir Knight Peter continue to rest in peace and may God continue to shower grace, peace, and blessings on his family and on those who knew, loved and admired him.

Rest in peace, Sir Knight Peter!! Amen.

My prayers go out the Arnold Family. I had the honor of meeting Pete and Tracy at a Gold Star Mother's event in 1996 where my grandma Esther Rodarte was honored. My uncle Alexander D. Rodarte served with Pete in Vietnam and died in his arms in 1966. Meeting Pete was like meeting a part of my uncle Alex and I know Pete filled a whole in my grandma's heart left from her son's death. I believe Pete's daughter was named in rememberance of my uncle and that always meant allot to my grandma. May our Lord Jesus comfort you and your family always.

I am very sorry to hear of the death of Pete Arnold. Pete and I worked closely together at Xerox Corp/Evansville during the 70's. Pete was a special friend who paid a heavy price for his country in Vietnam. We will miss him.

Pete and I had an immediate connection since I was Vietnam veteran when I joined Xerox. As with most Vietnam veterans, we talked very little about our combat experiences. I learned of heroism from others and that only added to admiration of your dad. He had a kind heart and was able to mentor new sales people by showing us what to do by sharing his extraordinary selling skills.

Very sad to hear of Pete's passing . He was a friend, mentor, and taught me a great deal about life. He never bragged of his accomplishments and was always there to lend a knowledgable hand. His military record speaks to his courage and commitment to his fellow man. A good man is gone but his indelible mark has been left on many. A great Xerox comrade!

September 19, 2015

Another good man has left us but we all have to believe he is in a better place. If anyone knows, I do because I lost the two men in my life that did it all, my father and husband! Prayers go out to his family and friends! Pat Clemons

Pete Arnold was an outstanding person and a long time friend. We worked together at Xerox in the 70's and he was one of the really good people I ever met. Pete was very bright and contributed a great deal to the succcess of Xerox in Evansville, Indiana. My sympathy goes out to his wife and children. I'm sure he is now in heaven with God and everything is OK. May God bless his family always. Ron Hoffman Lexington, Ky.

My little arms were wrapped tightly around Dad's neck as we went under the water. His broad strokes propelled us across the pool. I was one with Dad. I remember the sights and sounds as if it was yesterday. My senses were alive. The way the sunlight filtered through the water, flowing hair, bubbles, and the muffled sound of laughter are etched in my mind forever. I felt his strength. We were one in the water.

He was my rock. He told me I was strong and resilient when I faltered. He was my cheerleader; and at times seemed my toughest critic. He was that way with all his children.

Dad called us his five stars; Suzzane, Patrick, myself, Pete and Alexandra, all stars in his eyes. He loved each of us differently. His love for one did not diminish his love for another. He had enough love to go around.

Shine brightly, Dad, until we meet again.

My favorite picture of Dad. He was always so confident and handsome. I think his personality shines through in this photo.
