Peter Francis Bowers, 71, formerly of Mahanoy City, passed away Feb. 17 at home, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born at Locust Mountain Hospital, Shenandoah Heights, he was the son of the late Francis and Ilse (Gumz) Bowers
He graduated from Mahanoy Area High School and later continued his education at Schuylkill Technology Center-North Campus.
Entrepreneur and business owner, he owned and operated Hilltop Drywall from 1986-1990 and Bowers Home Improvements from 1990-present.
Peter was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, recently celebrating 30 years of continuous sobriety, and an avid Penn State football fan.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his daughter, AnnaLisa (Bowers) Polusky, and sister, Regina Buffington.
Peter is survived by a loving girlfriend, Rose Marie Brennan; son and business partner, Jeffrey Bowers; grandsons, Edward J. Polusky III, James Polusky and Chase Bowers.
Peter was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be performed at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25. Friends and family can visit at 10 a.m. All COVID-19 precautions will be followed. Everyone must wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Schuylkill Technology Center North Carpentry Department. James P. Haughney Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

So sorry for your loss.. Your Dad was a a good honest hard working man and friend . Overthe years did lots of work f.... Keep his legacy alive and do the same honest and good work.... Have you all in my thoughts and prayers RIP PETE till we meet again
