Combat veteran, loving husband
Peter T. Carfagna, 54, a combat veteran who worked for the NYC Fire Department, passed away on March 21, 2017.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Pepper Carfagna; daughter, Esmerelda Pepper-Gonzalez and son-in-law, Joseph Gonzalez; daughter, Caroline Tuppatsch and his grandson, James Patrick; son, Thomas Carmine Carfagna; and brother, Paul Carfagna and sister-in-law, Geri Carfagna.
Funeral is Monday, March 27, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hanley Funeral Home.

Pop, I still can't believe your gone my heart aches. You will always be my hero. I promise to tell your grandson as he grows what an amazing man you were. I know it might sound selfish but I still wanna wake up and this all be a dream. I love you and you were the best dad a girl could ever ask for.

Dear Paul & family...
I am heartbroken....My very best childhood friend ever...So many memories all our forts that Pete built..hanging out on pop's green pinto listening to pink floyd the wall...Fourth of July always the best thanks to Peter..Great beach parties down New Dorp Beach...But most of all he was always the one to listen to everyones problems...such a great friend...My childhood memories all include Peter and Paul and will never forget him...I cry as I write this as I cant believe he is gone...My deepest condolences to his family but most of all to you Paul..We will always have those great memories...I know I will..Rest in Peace my dear friend...Peter
