Peter COMBE Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal from Jul. 2 to Jul. 4, 2014.
COMBE, Peter Verner
December 4, 1947 - June 25, 2014
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Combe on June 25, 2014 at the age of 66 in Edmonton AB.
Peter is survived by his wife Marilyn, his stepdaughter Trish Miles (Dan), his step- granddaughter Delaney; his three sisters; Jodie Grover (Dale), Tim (Patricia) Nick, Pat, Cam and Katie, Derek (Vickie), Jack and Emmie, Vickie Horbul (Doug), Mason (Brittany) and Kelly Geddes (Dan), Trevor (Stacey), Gwen and Odin, Dana and Shamous, Alex and Alison and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Peter was predeceased by his parents Joe and Marnie Combe and his nephew Garrett Horbul.
Peter was a very generous man who loved his family and friends. He was an avid reader starting with Mad Magazines, working his way up to law books, then cases in his law career. He played sports in his high school and university years, but later on chose to watch. He was an armchair expert on the CFL, NFL and the NHL and most anything else that you might want to debate. His favourite pastime was the racetrack at Northlands.
Off to the races Pete from Pig, Bounce & Mouse!
It was Peter's wish that there not be a Service, but a family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
If desired, donations may be made in Peter's name to: The Mustard Seed 10568 - 114 Street N.W., Edmonton AB T5H 3J7 or The Hope Mission, 9908 - 106 Avenue N.W., Edmonton AB T5H ON6.

I was Pete's friend when we lived in the St. Stephen's College residence hall at the U. of Edmonton. I was in graduate school and he was a law student. He must have influenced me because I also eventually went on to law school in the U.S. He was a good man and I will always remember those conversations with him.

I was very sad to hear about Peter's passing. He was a big part of my life for 10 years when we worked together at Combe & Kent. I was in my twenties and Peter had a huge impact on me. It was not just that he was kind, generous and so respectful of everyone around him; it was that he made you want to be a better person and he showed you how. That wonderful part of Peter will live on in those of us who were lucky enough to be graced with his friendship.

My heart felt condolences go out to Peter's family. Peter was the most kind and generous man I have ever met and the most fantastic boss anyone could have ever asked for. For 13 years I had the pleasure of working with him. He will truly be missed and never be forgotten. I love you Peter, rest in peace my friend.
