Peter CONNAL Obituary
July 26, 1952 - June 28, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Connal on June 28 after a long battle with cancer. Peter was born in Prince Rupert, the first of three children of Rev Ross and Marnee Connal. They lived in Kitimat, Richmond, Lake Cowichan, and then moved to Cloverdale in 1969, where Peter met Christine Hull at Cloverdale United Church. They married in 1978 and had 3 children. Peter had a long career in education at Johnston Heights and then Semiahmoo. He was a avid fisher, golfer, sportsman, was devoted to his church and enjoyed reading and travel. He was predeceased by his father Ross and his son/best friend Taylor. Survived by his mother Marnee, wife Christine, children Evan (Caitlin), Miranda (Andrew), dear friend Mike Chu (Asta), sisters Cathy Cave (Tom), Bethe McDonald, many beloved nieces, nephews, dear friends, and his devoted canine companion Sweeney. Memorial service to be held at Cloverdale United Church on July 8 at 1:30 p.m. Donations to Dr. Kim Chi's team "Shift Happens" in the "Ride to Conquer Cancer" would be appreciated.

Dear Christine and family I am so sorry to hear of Peter's passing . Having worked with Peter for so many years at Semi he was a person I looked upto greatly . Dear Christine, Marnee and family, I grew up with another brother around the Mumford household. His name was Peter. He fit right in. He was loved by our family and greatly appreciated. Over the years via the teaching world, I always heard complements about Peter as an educator. Despite life's challenges, Peter seemed to keep that positive attitude that we got to know so well from Marnee and Ross as we prepared to marry. Take care, Janet and Greg.

Dear Christine: My sincerest thoughts and prayers go to you and your son and daughter during this difficult time. Peter was true friend and stand up guy who I will hold in my heart and memories from our many days golfing and fishing. Peter was a man of integrity who counted every stroke in golf and never kept a fish under size. He had a smile that lightened a dark room and was as happy when you had a birdie or eagle in golf as much as if it was his. I am sure he is playing "The Old Course at St. Andrews in Heaven" smiling down on his wonderful family and all the friends he made.
