Peter J. Cowper

Dec 19, 1941 - October 5, 2013

Passed away at 71 years old in his home in Beaurepaire, QC on a beautiful fall day where the light was just right, the leaves were turning, and the garden was alive.

Peter will be remembered and celebrated by Dale, Janet, Gren and Heather, and his sister Brenda,

along with his grand-children, Noah, Vivianne, Leo, Kaya and Marley, and good friend, Joanne.

Peter was a beach talker who loved life, and loved to reach out to everyone and anyone.

His circle of friends is huge, and diverse.

He shared his values in his way with others. Family first. Work hard. Trust in God, and believe.

Be strong in your convictions. Be kind. Be generous. Be thrifty.

His is missed, but we are blessed to have known a unique soul like no other, who has returned to join his mom, dad and God in Heaven.

His spirit was everywhere on Saturday morning in the sunshine, and he will remain in our hearts forever, and, that's good!

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 12th, at 3:00pm at Collins Clarke Funeral Home in Pointe Claire, followed by a memorial service at 4:00pm in their chapel.

In lieu of flowers, please consider support of Peter's favourite cause, the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. - Dr. Seuss.

Boo hoo hoo! My tears will not stop, as I just was told by my friend that Peter had died. I cannot believe he has gone from this earth, but I know that God has him in His arms right now, and will comfort us all because Peter was such a man of devotion and spirituality and love for the world around him. I will be going to sing the psalms and hymns that best exemplify his life amongst us. He taught me so much about myself and life, my life is his life in so many ways.

Dear Brenda and family
We did not know your brother Peter, and it seems we were not blessed by his seemingly wonderful persona and grace. I can imagine what you are facing without his presence, his light, and love of life. You will be blessed with wonderful and touching memories. Be strong and share these with those you love.

To All the Cowper Family,

So sad to hear of Peter's sudden passing. Time goes by and we never think we won't be in someone's company again. Peter and Derek met as young boys on the beach around the age of five, and that was the beginning of a life long friendship. Many, many fond memories of Peter. Ocean Park will not be the same without him. He will be missed.

To all Peter's family,

Our condolences on your loss of a very special person. We remember Peter as a wonderful, fun person. We spent our first few New year's eves as a couple at Peter's Mother's home in Beaconsfield. They were always great parties with music, songs and a roaring fireplace. Later we used to see him in his favourite vacation spot (and ours) in Ocean Park, Maine. These are wonderful memories for both of us and we extend our sincere sympathy.

My sincere condolences to all of you. Peter was a wonderful man, and will be missed by all who knew him.
"We cannot control the movement of time nor can we control the destiny of those we love.
We can take comfort in knowing that those who have lived in our hearts are never really gone.
For as long as we keep them with us, in our hearts and in our thoughts, they will be with us always, for love which is timeless, never ceases to exist."
The peace of Christ be with you.
