Diesel was part of the "magnificent seven Squadron Commanders at Randolph AFBwe had a great group and we enjoyed each other's company as well as spending time together outside of work. He loved his job both as a Squadron Commander and as a Detachment Commander for AFROTC. He was a leader who's emphasis was always in the right areataking care of his people. I always admired him for that and tried to emulate that with my leadership style. He was a God fearing man and he loved his family. God Speed my friend. Polly, Laurie and I are praying for you and your family during this extremely difficult time

Polly and family, we are prayerfully journeying with you during this truly difficult time. Even though it has been years since we were stationed together, we have never forgotten your family. Everyone always had a smile and the joy just radiated from all of you. Please know we have deep compassion for all of you during this time. (Compassion means "to suffer with.") Be assured of our prayers and masses said for Peter.

Polly and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Pete was such a champion in everything he did, he was a champion husband, father, coach, officer, navigator, friend and Godly man. Our whole family will miss him. We will cherish the memories of so many great times with him and your family, and I enjoyed so many flights with him training students. Attached are photos from the 2000 Air Force Rodeo flying competition where we flew together and Pete, the champion, was key to us winning first place in all five categories for Air Force refueling crews. He was the last navigator to win that competition and since that day I've called him the best Nav in the world - and he always will be.
You have our deepest sympathy, our prayers are with you all.

He was our team's SS, he was our team's catalyst, he was such a huge part of my childhood and my memories of his warmth, our friendship and his love of life still burn strong. My heart is broken for Dizz and for his wonderful, loving family. May God bless the Deitschels and the Meiners and the lasting memory of a life lived to its fullest. Marcia and I were so sorry to learn from Bob and Barbara about this devastating loss for Chuck and Lois and Charlie, for all the CAM and St. X families here in Cincinnati, who know them and send their love and support. Reading other messages already posted testify to the love and respect Pete had in Texas. Sympathy for all his family at this unexpected loss hardly seems enough right now. I was glad to hear that he had spent time at Christmas with his Cincinnati family and friends. Our love - Paul Hendrick
