PETER J.
On November 3, 2010, beloved husband of Beatrice (DeJulio); father of Peter J. (Katie), Lisa Pompeani (Bob), and David L. (Lisa); grandfather of Chelsea, David, Celina, Nicholas, and Olivia; Proceeded in death by sisters Betty Sabin and Antoinette Cerchiaro. Pete was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army, attached to the 14th US Airforce Group 315, China, Burma, India Theater, as a surgical technician. He has earned several ribbons and metals, including two bronze stars. He has been a member of the American Legion Post No. 823. Pete has owned his barbershop in Bethel Park for over 52 years. He is a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Choir Greentree, and a lifetime ISDA-West End Civic Lodge. He will be sadly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and all those who have had the good fortune of knowing him. He was a family man and a model of love, kindness, trust, and respect. He always had a smile for anyone he came in contact with. Friends welcome Sat 7-9 p.m. and Sun 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SVC. 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday 10 a.m. at St. Margaret of Scotland Church.

Pete was such a kind person. He always greeted you with a warm and friendly smile and never missed supporting a Bethel Park Marching Band Fundraiser. His kindness will never be forgotten. He will always be remembered.

"Pete" was my dads barber until he passed away in 1997 and mine since I was 15 in 1958. I passed the shop and saw that the "candy pole" wasn't turning and the note on the door. Pete was loved by our family and he will be missed by many. What a wonderful work ethic that was an example for all of us that knew him.

I was shocked and saddened to hear the awful news. I am so very sorry for your loss.
Lisa, I will always remember your dad - "Pete" - as such a good guy, always in a good mood, always so nice to me. Both your mom and dad have always been very special to me.

My deepest sympathy is extended to the DeRose family.
After joining the choir in the 1980's Pete & I became close 'bass' choir-mates, I'll never forget the day I surprised him at the barber shop, and feel extremely blessed when we last sang together during my Sept 12th visit - as usual, I had to manage his music! All of us loved Pete very much & I already miss his delightful presence.
I promise to have a Mass celebrated in Pete's memory here in South Florida and know that my prayers are with you during this time.
