I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Peter. I worked with him at Park West HS and he was a joy to work with. There was a particular short story we would co-teach together because we had such different opinions on it, and we would each try to get the class on our side. It is one of my fondest memories of teaching. My sincere condolences to his family. He will be greatly missed!

I am extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Peter. He was a dear colleague and a Co Founding teacher with me at the Bronx Latin School. We worked long, hard hours to create an environment of engagement, a love for learning and an appreciation for the Classics( for which Peter had a particular fondness). He taught Latin when he was there. It was a very exciting time and the faculty as a whole shared many delightful times together. My sincerest sympathy goes out to his entire family. I´m sure I can speak for the entire founding faculty of Bronx Latin when I say it was our honor to work with him and he and his contributions to education will truly be missed.

I was a "star boarder" at Peter and my sister Lissa's apartment in the spring of 1989, when I appeared in a show off-Broadway. Peter was a gracious host. We shared a love of Homer, and I admired his classical learning. One of our first conversations was about Phillip of Macedonia and the conquest of Athens. I cherish the memory of Peter and Lissa's wedding in a little country church on a frosty January morning in Jo Daviess County in Illinois.
