In memory of
john collins

I met PJ in Jumla Nepal in 1981 where I was in the Peace Corps and he was a health worker. He was a whirlwind. I have fond memories of playing chess with him. He really taught me chess. Cover the middle four squares! Anyway, he showed up in the middle of nowhere when I needed a friend. He helped me. I am sure it is how a lot of people feel about him.

I worked for PJ on Cape Cod in the mid 1980s and have fond memories of my time with him. He was a larger than life character, and the world is a poorer place without him.

For all the times I missed wishing you a happy birthday dad. As you know we're not that great when it comes with dates. Haha. Rest well dad.
Your son,
Faresh

Didn't know my father all too well and met him only once when I was 20 back in the 90's. Wish I could have known him better. Few days after his passing managed to catch a flight to the cape and visit long lost relatives and friends of his. It was good to know that he had friends and family who loved him so. They even said that I look and sound just like him especially when I laugh. Thanks everyone for sharing.
Yours truly,
T. Faresh Onn (Malaysia)

I knew PJ from the Peace Corp, in Malaysia. Quite a memorable person. I came across his obituary today, somewhat by accident. It looks like he accomplished a great deal.

I hope you won't mind my writing an entry in the guest book. I live in Anchorage, AK and several weeks ago started thinking about PJ Feeney and wondering what had become of him. I knew him the year he attended Alaska Methodist University in 1972-'73, and had lost touch with him after last corresponding in the early '80's. I was so very surprised to come upon this obituary. He truly was a special person, as full of life and fun as anyone I've met since. I remember him well, walking the campus in his wool clothes and mountain boots, a portable chess game always at hand. I was forever stumbling upon him in the alcoves around campus, deeply immersed in a chess game with whomever would play. His laughter usually preceded him in the halls, and I remember it more than his voice. His zest for life was one of his most memorable qualities - he was a person who could have added so much to our state by settling here, but one could tell by the sparkle in his eye that wanderlust was a passion with him. My sincere condolences to his loved ones.

I am fortunate to have many wonderful memories of "The Mighty Peej," stirring up a roomful of people with his raucous recollections and vivid storytelling. I will miss him, but am glad to be able to share these memories with his family.
