Peter Fitzsimons

Fitzsimons Peter Corduff, Ballinagh Peter's son PJ and wife Regina, his daughter Mairead and husband Liam, grandchildren Shannon, Tommy, Kathleen, Sarah, Bernadette and Caitlin, brothers, and extend family, wish to express their most sincere thanks for the support and help of all of our great friends and neighbours during our difficult time. We would like to thank our wonderful friends that met us at the airport, had the house cleaned and prepared for the wake, and made sure we had everything we needed. We would also like to thank the great women that spent endless hours in the kitchen, people that brought food and refreshments to the house, those that sent flowers, Mass cards, and donations to Cystic Fibrosis from both Ireland and New York. Thank you to the great friends that sat up all night. Special thanks to our neighbours that dug the grave the next morning. Special thanks to John Leddy, a great friend of Peter's, that drove him to the hospital that night and was with him until the end. Also Liam Sweeney who blew the horn and was always a good friend down the years to Peter. Thanks to Jerry O'Driscoll who came all the way from Cork, blew the horn and spent time with us during his own time of grief. Thank you to all the people that travelled long journeys to be with us and to the huntsmen that did a lovely Guard of Honor. Thanks to Peter's friends that brought up the symbols of his life during the Mass. Special thanks to Fr. Cusack for the wonderful homily that we will never forget. Also thanks to Fr. McDermott, Fr. Brady and the altar servers for celebrating a lovely Mass. Thanks to Tommy Kenny, Teresa McKiernan and the lovely choir for their great singing. Thank you to Andy Cronin, Funeral Undertaker, for all of his help. Thanks to the doctors and nurses of Cavan General Hospital as well as Fr. Gilchrist and Fr. Kearns. Thanks to Christina Brady of the Lodge for the lovely dinner. Thanks to Joe O'Connor, the Ballinagh guards and the local men that kept the traffic flowing smoothly at the house and the Chapel. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our thanks. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.  Peter's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael's Church, Potahee, on Sunday, May 20 th. 10 am.
