Peter Fleck

Peter J. Fleck, 88 of Auburn died on Monday March 8, 2004 in Seattle, WA. He was born in Killdeer, ND on September 22, l915. Pete was the 4th of 9 children and has been a resident of Auburn since 1961. Pete was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine of 56 years in November of 2001. An Air Force Veteran, served as a flight engineer on a B-17 during WWII. Stationed at Molesworth, England, Pete completed his 35 missions over Germany and France and soon after his discharge in l945, he married Lorraine Dora Rice in Rapid City, SD. In l956 Pete and his family moved to the west coast settling in Auburn, WA where they raised 6 children. Pete founded Fleck Company Inc. in l967 located in Auburn. The family corporation was sold 30 years later in l997. He was a 4th Degree member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus; Lifetime member of the Auburn Elks Lodge #1808; past member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge. Pete and Lorraine earned the title of Philanthropist with their generous donations to charities such as Tall Elks, Knights of Columbus, KCTS, Union Gospel Mission, Catholic community Services and more. Pete received the first JW Maxwell Achievement Award in 2003 for his contributions to the Millionaire Club, a local men's homeless charity. Pete and Lorraine founded "Fleck Family Foundation" a non-profit organization helping local charitable causes in this community. Survivors include sons David Fleck, Coronado, CA and Duane Fleck, Kent, WA; daughter, Beth Stamm, Kent, WA; sons Tom Fleck, Kent, WA, John Fleck, Federal Way, WA, Brian Fleck, Sumner, WA; 12 grandchildren; brother, Paul Fleck, Renton, WA; sisters, Mary Rasmussen, Auburn, WA, Rosemary Evans, Lake Jackson, TX, Pauline Charchenko, St Paul, MN, Fran Schulberg, Aurora, OR. Funeral Services, Monday March 15, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Auburn. Rosary Services, Sunday March 14, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Price-Helton Funeral Home. Visitation, Saturday from 1PM to 5PM and Sunday from 9AM to 5PM, Burial, Monday at 1:00 PM in the Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA.
