Peter Gasper Obituary
AGE: 79 • Wilmington
Peter A. Gasper passed away at home on October 23, 2015 after a 2 1/2 year brave and courageous battle with brain cancer.
Peter was born in Hershey, PA; attended Hershey High School; and then joined the Air Force for 4 years, being stationed in Alaska for 2 years. He then attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida.
After graduation, he worked for Delta Airlines as a lead aircraft mechanic for 33 years at the Philadelphia International Airport. Pete was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church. He was an avid golfer with a deep love of the sport.
Pete is survived by his wife Joyce, married for 27 years and together for 34 years: 2 sons, Peter and Paul, 3 granddaughters, Karina, Kayla and Karisa Gasper. He is also survived by his siblings, Milt Purcell, Maggie Harris, Mary Whisler, Rosie Jennings and Jean Cover, many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
There are no words to describe how much he was loved and will be missed. Also he will be missed by is devoted little friend Lily, and Nickey, his two cats.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 2505 Centerville Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute, 4701 Olgetown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713 or the National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel Street, Suite 200, Newton, MA 02458. I am both grateful and honored to have worked with "Pete" at Delta Air Lines in Philadelphia, PA for a number of years. He was always kind and polite. It is my prayer that your many wonderful years of happiness will sustain you during this difficult time. I will remember you in my prayers. God's grace is sufficient to carry you through.
