Peter Goldberg Obituary
Peter was the son of Millie and Louis Goldberg of Providence, R.I.. where he spent his early life until moving to Boston where he and Lynn became "swim buddies" in a scuba diving class. He and Lynn went on to raise their twin sons, Todd and Keith in Augusta Georgia.
Peter found his career path in teaching and spent decades in the Augusta school system, as well as teaching Sunday School. He was an avid wheelchair competitor in tennis and basketball and served as an inspiration for many who had physical challenges. Peter never dwelled on what he could not do, but only what he could do. To quote his cousin, "he was the best of us".
Peter and Lynn have spent the last few years in Estero Florida where Peter continued to teach, follow the baseball farm teams, prepare sumptuous meals for his family and friends, enjoying life in the Florida sunshine.
Peter leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn Jaffe and his pride and joy, his sons Todd Goldberg(Amber) and Keith Goldberg, his sister Karen Goldberg Harris(Perry), his nieces and nephew, great nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.
Final arrangements will be Sunday, November 10th at 12 noon, graveside at Magnolia Cemetery, 702 3rd St. Augusta GA with Shiva immediately following at Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, 935 Johns Rd. Augusta, GA.

Many teachers and paras at Lake Trafford Elementary want to say that Mr. Goldberg was a trooper and did the best he could for our gators. We thank him and his family for allowing him to come be part of our LTE family. He was an inspiration for our ESE students and all of us as a whole. We love you and will forever remember all you gave to our students and staff. Go Pats! G-Man Ruben Reyna your football taking buddy! Rest in Heavenly Peace!!

Peter always had a smile on his face no matter what life threw at him. He was a true inspiration to many people including his 2 remarkable sons Todd and Keith. He showed his love for his wife Lynn in so many ways it was obvious to anyone who knew him. His passing is a sad loss to all those who circled in his orbit. You will be missed dear Peter

Peter, precious friend, you will be missed and stay in our hearts forever! I shall never forget your kindness and the support you gave me and my daughters during the most difficult time in our lives. We met the Goldberg family through our children, who at the time were attending camp at the Jewish Community Center. We quickly became friends, and enjoyed many special times and dinners together. Peter was a rock and literally, my knight in shining armor during my divorce. We had many dinners together, celebrations and holidays, and everyone knows, he was the best chef! I am so grateful to you Peter for your love and kindness. Rest in peace precious friend, you've touched our hearts in such a meaningful way and will stay there forever.

The first time I met Peter was outside Lynn´s apartment in Somerville, MA. He was waiting patiently in the car when I pulled up to chat with Lynn. She pointed to him & explained this was the new man in her life. I looked across the sidewalk to see him sitting in the car, so handsome with that perfect profile (and a full head of hair at the time) and my first thought was: oh my, Lynn´s going to marry Superman! And Peter was a super man. He always joked that I was like his "2nd wife" and welcomed me into his home. I will miss his laughter and generosity, and great cooking. Love you Peter. Rest in peace.
