I was greatly blessed to have been adopted as the son of Park Avenue Baptist Church of Titusville, FL. Pastor Peter Lord took me in and personally ensured I was well cared fir. My God father, Cecil McGee and Peter Lord to me were the embodiment of Jesus. They pour their lives into me and taught me by their lives what God was like and who He is. I learned the essence of Christian love by my visits at Pastor Lord's home every Tuesday evening where Mother Johnnie Lord fed me with her delicious chicken rice casserole. I soaked in every word Pastor Lord spoke from the pulpit and especially his one on one admonitions and counseling. I cannot say enough of Pastor Peter Lord and his entire family. I was even privileged to meet grandpa Lord and grandma who showed me so much love. Grandma blessed me with copy of a book by Alan Redpath which I still greatly cherish. Our Lord Jesus Christ once lived, and still does, in Titusville, Florida. May my adoptive father, Peter and Mother Johnnie continue to shine in God's Kingdom both in heaven and in our hearts. Servant of God well done. Rest in peace.

Peter taught things I had never heard as a Christian, and those things changed my life.
I quit being a turkey. Through his teaching I became an eagle. I learned that God was a loving father who not just loves the world, but he personally loves me.
Peter and Johnnie were my lifelines in a difficult time in my life.

Besides being the great pastor and spiritual leader that he was and will continue to be through his books, Peter had another side. He really liked to surprise us with his humor oftentimes in his sermons. Many of us will remember when we were transitioning from overhead transparencies to remote. He was always complaining about the "clicker” not working. One morning he was acting frustrated and actually threw it into the baptismal pool! Of course after we all were in shock we found that it was not the real thing. Another time was his ride down the center aisle on a "motorcycle “. I was in the middle of the front row of the choir not knowing for sure if he could stop. We loved everything about Peter. He will be missed.

Peter has been great inspiration to me for many years. His book, The 2959 Plan on daily systematic prayer was a real help to me in my early Christian walk. He remained a faithful prayer warrior in his waning years and he remains a wonderful example for me to follow as I also desire to finish well. Peter finished well and will be missed.

I've known Pastor Lord since I was 6 years old. He would drop by our house on Sunday afternoons. He was such a loving soul and cared about people. He will be sorely missed and I'm sure many of us are rejoicing with him as he has run his race.

Peter Lord was the best teacher our family ever experienced and someone everyone in our family speaks of fondly as a Man of God. I imagine he is with God and seated at the banquet table next to Jonnie and with the "big guy" Billy Graham and all the inspirational pastors and beloved saints he introduced us to at Park Avenue. What a privilege to have called him our family's Pastor.

For more years than I can count, my husband and I listened to the recordings of his Sunday sermons at Park Avenue. We still remember examples that he used when teaching. His fingerprints continue to be seen in our lives. We loved him.

I met Peter Lord at a Baptist student Union in 1976. His message to young college students led me to totally submit my life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. My wife, who has gone to be with Lord (August 2014), spent the night at his house and would often seek to visit with him and Johnny when we passed through Titusville. He will be sorely missed.

Dear Lord Family,
I was a small child at age four who grew up in Titusville, Fla when my father was transferred to Fla to work at Cape Canaveral. My mother instantly reached out to Park Avenue Baptist church as we moved our family of five from Ohio to Florida with no family or friends. Pastor Lord embraced us and I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at age six. I remember attending an all girls slumber party with his daughter at their house and had such a memorable time. My mother and father have since been called to join the Lord but Park Avenue Baptist church and Pastor Lord will forever be in my heart. With love and thanks, Diane

I was a seminary student from Southwestern Baptist Seminary when I had the privilege of participating at his church with 25 other seminary and college students in a training/serving 10-week program in Summer 1977. It was life-changing for me to be under the influence of his preaching, staff, and church members...so many teachable moments, eg., use of BOTH elders & deacons in a Southern Baptist church...wise counseling from Danny Daniels...foot washing service (not as an ordinance) when I humbled myself before my younger ministry leader Bill...nutrition wisdom from Cecil MeGee...praying/kneeling in the small chapel for my assurance of salvation at age 27 with associate pastor Lloyd Clough...youth event helper and youth small group facilitator with youth pastor Robbie Goss...beginning to learn to hear God’s Voice from Jerry White & Peter Lord...hospitality ministry...housing with host family Peterson & their friends...memorable song choruses...witnessing door-to-door and singing in choir at evangelistic meeting on a group mission trip to West Palm Beach...much more to be grateful to God for...even a sermon Peter gave on being a shepherd/pastor to people, not a hireling (John 10). I went back to visit the church around 25 years later. I met Peter and his wife Johnnie in the parking lot. He invited me to sit with them in worship and have lunch after worship with them, the Daniels, and the Cloughs...an unforgettable spontaneous blessing for me! Peter’s son had become the pastor at the church by then. I heard Peter speak on other occasions at seminary & James Robison conference(s). In conclusion, glory to God for Peter’s lasting godly and exemplary Christlike influence on my life!

My husband and I and 2 small children travelled from Kissimmee to Titusville FL. every Sunday for many years back in the 1980s to be ministered to by Park Avenue Baptist Church...... Peter Lord and Danny Daniels had teaching like we had never heard! It changed our lives forever! We attended a few of the Pastor/Wives retreats later on after we had moved to NJ and was on staff at a large church there...... the ministry which poured into our lives during those time were the foundation of our personal growth and development as leaders. I heard Gods voice clearly for the first time at one of those retreats and also received my first deliverance during a prayer time with Danny Daniels..... We are forever grateful for the providence of God in bringing Peter Lord and his ministry into our lives!

Peter had a profound impact on my life. Taught me the possibility of hearing God's voice. God has in turn used that to impact many others. Here's a conversation we had: https://www.sethbarnes.com/post/a-conversation-with-peter-lord

Only Eternity will reveal the true influence of this man of God. His love for his Lord and people are what I remember most. Every sermon I heard him preach reached right down where we live. His influence will live on through his books and videos, and certainly in the hearts of all who knew him.

Peter Lord had such a great influence on my life. I first watched his video sermons from Lincoln Nebraska. I was a new Christian so when the company i worked for went under i moved to Titusville back in the early 80s to attend his church and got a job at the Kennedy space center. Happily just found he has sermons someone posted on utube.

Peter was a true brother. He disciples me back in the 60's. He taught me essence of how to walk in the power of the Spirit. I don't know where I would be today without his pastoral care. See you

Peter Lord had a great influence on my life as a young pastor. His talks on "How to Hear God Speak" were very helpful and were shared in different churches. He helped me get to know God in a more intimate way.
