Dear Stacie and family,
So sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed singing with Peter in the Christmas Choralaires, and will miss hearing his great voice. I knew he was talented, but didn't know he had so many interests and other talents as well. My prayers for your going through this difficult time, and for God's comfort.

I had just came back from 4 years in the Marines in 2015, was barely on my feet, and had professor Martin my first year in college at SCC. He was my first window into the world of IT that I was incredibly excited to get started with. I had a hunch from the beginning that he was suffering through illness, though you wouldn't have guessed it by his lively demeanor.
His zany attitude, unrivaled passion for technology, and absolute commitment to my success motivated and reaffirmed me to be where I am today. As I hit bumps in the road getting my new life started, he was extremely helpful and kind in how he brought just as much excitement and interest into his office hours as he did his class time.
I couldn't have had a better teacher and positive influence during that stressful time for me, and moments like this only make us want to live the best of people through ourselves. I hope to be as positive and encouraging as Peter was as I continue on my own journey through life.
It was with a heavy heart that I read this today, but I am overjoyed to have had the experience of knowing him, regardless of how brief it was.
Rest well.

Stacie & Girls, Family:
My sincere condolences to you all! What a shock & sadness today learning this news. Pete (Jude!...high school nickname :) ) and I spent a fair amount of time hanging around together in early high school at Medina. We had wonderful times running around town in the yellow VW bug and playing music as loudly as possible. Doc saved my life ( a number of times) when I was younger & I had a great deal of admiration for him & Dora. Peter had a signature smile and a wonderful love of life! Knowing Peter & the entire Martin family was such a blessing to me. God's Peace to you all !

I am happy to say I was a lucky person to have met Peter. I saw his personality through a song he sang, ending that 'he still didn' know why He wanted those parables' (pair a bulls) It was a nice evening with Ariana and her family. To Ariana and Haley, I lost my Dad when I was 24 yrs old, my children don't remember him, but he got to see his grandkids. So I understand soe of your pain. Glad you are all giving him to God with gracious love. No more pain. May you all find a lasting peace in your hearts. Love Granny

My dad was my absolute everything. My rock, the glue that holds our family together. God called my dad back home Thursday, September 8th. As many of you know, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was given 2 months to live. That was 3 years ago. I was blessed with 26 years of having my dad in my life- 3 of which were not promised. He defeated one of the absolute worst cancers out there- he is the definition of a Soldier, he fought every day to be there for his girls. He was Ari and my biggest fan. He never once missed anything that Ari or I participated in from swim team, to basketball games, to karate, to concerts, to pageants. Ariana and I are blessed to be able to say he was at both of our high school and college graduations- and was even able to walk across the stage with both of us. I am in shock and hurting but I am comforted in the fact that this too is God's plan. I believe he was taken from us so suddenly on Thursday in order to prevent him from having to go through chemo again and suffer more. The last 3 years have been tough, no doubt, but as a family we made the best of every single day. Even through his pain, my dad was always the most cheerful, happy-go-lucky man I have ever met. I don't know what I am going to do without him here on earth but I know I will see him again in the Star Meadows of the sky.

Peter was a fantastic person and will be missed. He was the first professor I had at SCC when I went back to college over 20 years ago. He always had a smile on his face. My deepest sympathies go to his family and friends. Mary O'Brien

Dear Martin Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have worked with Peter for the past 14 years and for the past two I was lucky enough to be next door to him at SCC. Peter was one of the kindest souls I had ever met. He was so caring and thoughtful and funny! I would say I connected with Peter but in reality Peter connected with me. He connected with everyone he met. His impressions were instant and strong and lasting. I am lucky to call him a friend.
The world is a bit smaller now but I know that Peter is bringing joy to where he has gone just as he did when he was here.
My prayers are with you and Peter.
Fondly,
Sara Mercill
