Peter Mathieson

MATHIESON, Peter Mathias May 2, 1931 - May 11, 2011 Peter passed away suddenly May 11, 2011 in his home. Peter is lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-six years, Dorothy, their children David (Linda), Heather, Paul (Stephanie), Don (Katherine) and seven grandchildren; Erin, Leigh, Alex, Andy, Adrianna, Leandra and Dylan. Born in Victoria, raised in Vancouver he became a proud Chartered Accountant in 1957. Soon after he moved his young family to Calgary, where he caught the oil bug, moving into the oil and gas exploration industry. Peter spent his years following his fathers love of the sea; enjoying sailing in Bermuda and boating the BC coast near his cottage at Savary Island. Long time snowbirds Peter and Dorothy chased the sun on the golf course from Victoria to Palm Desert. He often spoke fondly of the relationships made on the green. Peter was proud of his children and grandchildren and wanted nothing but the best for them. A celebration of life will be held at the Victoria Golf Club on Thursday , May 19, 2011, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the charity of your choice in Peter's name.
