Linda and I were saddened and shocked to learn about Pete' passing. Our sincerest condolences to Karen and family. We remember all the times we would see Pete and Karen in Smalland. Pete always took time to speak with us and was genuinely interested in how we were doing. Pete and Ken had two things in common, both grew up in Quincy and both graduated from Northeastern. We will miss him. R.I.P. Pete

Dear Karen and Family,
I was so shocked to hear the news and have no words to express my sincerest condolences to you all. Pete always made us feel at home when we visited, and even when we we were there and you were away traveling. Even after a status changes when I had the chances to see you at the vacation house or other events, both Karen, Pete and all still made me feel family and that meant the world to me. I will never forget his thirst for knowledge and peoples opinions and his contagious laugh. Thoughts and prayers to all during their incredibly difficult time.

Dick and I just learned yesterday of Peter's untimely death. What a shock! So many memories: cousins playing together as children, summer visits to Smalland, holidays with Nana and Baba, that special dinner in Paris...and more. Love, blessings, and peace as we all adjust to life without his vibrant spirit in our midst.

Dear Karen, so very sorry to hear of Petes sudden death. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We have many happy memories of you both on bike rides, playing softball, volleyball and swimming. I will always remember the day you saved me after I jumped off the raft and thought I could swim to shore! Pete was a kind soul who will remain in our hearts forever. Love, Camille & Rich

Dear Joanne and extended family,
We are sorry to hear of the sudden loss of Peter. While we did not know him, he sounds like an incredible person, who has led a life so full of love and adventure - Joanne, it is easy now, to understand how your own family is always on the go, traveling, trying new things and living life to the fullest - this was instilled in you early on and your dad's passion for life continues on through you and the next generation.
May the happy memories of the times you treasured together, help to carry you all through this difficult time of grief.
Most Sincerely,
Carolyn, Tom and Cee-Cee Deslaurier-Tate

You can say he was special, and he was... you can say he made a difference in so many of our lives, and he absolutely did. Peter, my dear brother on March 24, 1940, was the first Easter baby born at Quincy City Hospital. I came a few years later and was so fortunate to have a big brother to look after me. He had a really neat red fire engine that I sat in the back and he pedaled me up and down the sidewalks. We had the cottage in Smaland where we learned to swim and enjoy our summers. When he had the chicken pox, he became a magician and his family watched in fascination. We would play cards and Peter always won, finding out later he made up new rules. I was Peter's dance partner while he swung me threw both his hips and his legs. What fun! Our Dad died when we were young, 20 and 16, another great loss. Peter was so handsome in his military blues when he gave me away to be married to Robert Andrews. Peter married his beloved Karen and had three beautiful children and six grandchildren. I have sooo many wonderful memories of Peter, will love and miss him forever until we will all be together. God be with him.

I cant believe youre gone. You lived your life to the fullest and brought creativity, excitement, curiosity and love to every soul you touched. You will always stand out as living every day as if it were your last you enjoyed life to the fullest. I feel blessed to call you uncle and godfather. I will always treasure time spent with you. I remember, even as a small child, looking forward to your imagination run wild as you told us bedtime stories at camp each summer. Thank you for being the superhero everyone wants to be. Love always, Michelle Andrews

I met Peter & Karen in 1988 in Stowe and after moving to Europe in 1991 we have remained close friends, often meeting in Paris and practicing our French together. We shared our love of the French culture, food, wine and countryside. They opened their doors to me and my wife when we spontaneously decided to get married in Stowe during a visit in 1997. Karen threw a dinner party together just as spontaneously. Peter's love of life and adventure always inspired me in my own life's adventures. He was always in much better shape than I was though he had over twenty years on me. I will miss him dearly and he will always have a special place in my heart.
