Peter Muse was an amazing athlete. I was honored to be able to watch him play ice hockey with his future wife, Deborah Greene, at the University of Pennsylvania. He was Captain of the ice hockey team, and led his team to victory that night. He was hit quite hard in his shoulder, but continued to play out the entire game!

I read about Peter in the Pennsylvania Gazette. He was one of the first people I befriended freshman year in the Quad at Penn. Although it has been many decades since that autumn of 1973, it seems like yesterday. Condolences to the family.

In my senior year of high school, I met one of the coolest friends my brother Bill made as a then freshman at the University of Pennsylvania. Peter Muse. When I enrolled at Boston University the following fall and had no housing, Peter arranged for me to stay with his family, Mom Dad and then “Rocky” at ole 439 Chestnut Hill Avenue, Brookline MA.
It was quite heady, living in the city where my hero JFK was born, being a stones throw from Cleveland Circle and being able to see political billboards (Paul Guzzi is the one I seem to remember) from my bedroom atop “Muse manor” What a family! Over the years, Peter remained a constant and true friend. Many a beer and laugh we had at the Deck or in the Quad.
Those were the times of our youth. His passing is such a smarting and sobering farewell. He was unfailingly accommodating to this young gangly and self conscious “younger brother” I recall being with Pete and Debbie in Boston the weekend the Kennedy Library was dedicated in 1980 and how Peter was such an unabashed admirer of Joseph P. Kennedy. I was lucky enough to keep in touch with Pete who I shared the avocation of criminal defense with.
Robert Muse, Peter's father, who I was saddened to learn died just weeks ago, once proclaimed that you could put any Bostonian in a Brooks Brothers Suit and make him Governor of Minnesota. He was right. There is something about a Bostonian. My seven years there were among the best of my life. It is a crown jewel of America and the Muses and Peter so embody the greatness of this city. Bon Voyage, Peter. Your job is done and well-done four beautiful kids a lovely wife and legion –and I mean legion- of people who will never forget you and never let the memory of the greatness that was you ever fade. I love you brother and shall miss you. I will honor you every time I argue a case in court

Dear Debbie and the entire Muse Family...it is with great sadness that we learned of Peter's passing. A wonderful father, husband, son, brother and outstanding lawyer...held in high esteem by his colleagues, his clients and the judiciary. What a wonderful role model he has been... a remarkable human being...as sad as his passing is, his legacy lives on with us all...and that is a cause for great joy...as we lay him to rest, we celebrate his life and his presence among us...
...and may God Bless Peter.

Dear Debbie and the entire Muse family - Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear about Peter's passing. He hired me to help out in the office when I was in law school and he was a mentor to me as a young attorney. He always stayed in touch and helped me and my family through some difficult times. He was a an honorable, upstanding man with a wonderful sense of humor. his nickname for me was "Bobette" because my father is Bobo Connolly. My entire family admired and respected him. I hope he and my mother are having a cocktail together in heaven. You are all in our prayers.
Sincerely, Christine Connolly Boyda and family

Peter was a wonderful guy and great family man. After knowing him for many years as my son Tim and Mike played for Milton Youth Hockey together. We realized that mother Mary and my grandmother Kathleen Daley were best of friends. We have now resided on Cape for 10 years and I hadn't seen Peter for quite some time since he was on Board with my father (Mike Daley) at Emmanuel.
All our prayers go out to your family for what has been a difficult month. We wish your family a Happy Holidays
