SIEGEL--Peter L.

It is with heavy hearts, we announce that Peter L. Siegel died January 6, 2016 due to complications from a bone marrow transplant for the treatment of Leukemia. Peter was born in New York City on March 24, 1950 and grew up in Great Neck, NY. He has a BA from the University of Mass. Amherst, and holds two masters degrees from the University of Chicago. He was a passionate sailor and resided in Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and William Cosentino, seven cousins, as well as his very dear friends Dave Turner and Christine Benner. He is and will be greatly missed. We will be holding a memorial service for Peter this spring in New York City, time and location to be announced.

Peter sailed with me several times in the late 1980s with a single sailing club. We became friends. I remember him well. He was good sailor, and I believe bought a boat. He will be missed. Fair winds, calm seas old friend!
