Peter F. Stevenson, 72, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2021at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Hillo) Stevenson.
He was born on December 23, 1948, in New Haven and was the son of the late Frederick and Frances (Barrnett) Stevenson.
Peter was a pipefitter/welder for local #777 for over 25 years until his retirement.
He was the loving father of Peter Stevenson (Jennifer) and Kimberly Stevenson; beloved grandfather to Isabella Stevenson who he adored; brother to William Stevenson (Marianne) and Nancy Moniello (Robert); brother-in-law to Joan Hillo and the late Carmine (Chip) Hillo and uncle to many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Pete loved being the life of the party, he was a member of the Eagles club, he loved working hard, cutting trees and burning wood. Pete loved coin collecting, the Yankees, golfing, and going to Island Falls Maine, he loved nature and animals, especially his cat Lilly.
A special thank you to the North Haven Fire Department/Paramedics for all their help over the last several months and Masonic Hospice Nurses for all the care, love and support.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Saint Elizabeth/Saint Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT. Burial will be private to the family. Cremation Society of CT in Windsor has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Animal Shelter in Pete's name.
