PETER TERIS Obituary
PETER EMMANUEL
Age 20, of Venetia, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016. Peter is the most cherished and beloved son of Peter and Paula; brother of Theodore; grandson of Rita Canchola and the late: Norbert Babac, James and Demetra Teris; nephew of Christina Kakoullis; cousin of Dmitri, Savva, and Alexandros. It was a large and compassionate community of administrators, teachers, friends, aides, and Dr. Diamond that helped Peter through the difficult challenges of being disabled. They are proof that there are angels here on earth. Peter loved music especially. His favorite music that he listened to every night: "Somewhere over the Rainbow" by IZ, "Octopus's Garden" by Ringo Star, and his brother's music. He was happiest in his outdoor, heated pond and that is where our angel passed on into God's hands. The family gives special thanks to the kindness and warmth of the following staff at: Trader Joe's, McDonald's, and Chick-fil-A in the South Hills. Peter is an Orthodox Christian. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and family are welcome at 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray, 724-941-3211 on Tuesday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., where a Trisagion will be held at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 123 Gilkeson Rd., Pittsburgh, 15228 on Wednesday 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Liturgy at 11 a.m. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Pathfinder School, 50 Donati Rd., Bethel Park, PA 15102. Please add or view tributes at:

I met Peter only once back in 2008 while working the Point. Park lot in downtown. A very docile young man. I was amazed how much he looked like his father as a youth. May goodness and mercy be with family and friends of the Teris family. May you rest in eternal peace Peter.

When Peter was two years old, he was under my care/teacher at Just About Kids in McMurray. A beautiful child, softest brown eyes, gentle spirit. Over the years I had often thought about Peter. A great loss to many. May family and friends find peace that passes all understanding at this time.

I had met Peter's dad a few months ago parking at a hockey game and after he saw my autism awareness sticker he started telling me about his son. It broke my heart to hear the news....you are all in my thoughts.

Paula, Peter and Theodore,
I am heartbroken to hear about Peter. Several of us from PLEA were together recently and were talking about Peter. We enjoyed teaching him!
Peter made me a better person and a better therapist. He taught me so much about non verbal communication and recognizing intelligence even when it can't be communicated. I will be honest that he taught me to have quick reflexes too! ...He could clear the speech table off in one swipe and twist out of a hand hold in an instant.
I will not be sad when I think of Peter. Thoughts and memories of him will continue to put a smile on my face. He was a very special child who turned into an exceptional man. I am lucky, honored and thankful to have been a part of his life.

growing up with peter was an amazing experience to be apart of. the unconditional love he shared with me truly opened my eyes and made me realize how precious life is. my friend wasn't worried about the little things in life because he didn't know how to be. he lived his life day to day being as happy as he could be and that is something I will try to continue on from his lessons. I'm not sure why peter had to be taken away from us so early in life, but I am sure that he is now in the best hands of them all. my love for you will never diminish and I know you will be watching over me always until I meet with you again one day. thank you for being a true friend who never judged for what I've done, but loved me for who I am. I was always enough for you and that's something that I'll hold in my heart forever. I know God has has a heated pond up there for you to swim in all day every day bud. watch over me, I will miss you peter.

My deepest sympathies at the loss of your son. So many times I would see Peter walking the neighborhood with family members or care givers, and he always had a big smile. I also recall the times when he stopped at the house on Halloween every year and how well he was progressing. We will be praying for your family during this difficult time.
