Petrus Franciscus "Peter" de Crom

de CROM , Peter November 5, 1921 - April 17, 2009 Petrus Franciscus de Crom of Calgary passed away peacefully at Rosedale Hospice on Friday, April 17, 2009 at the age of 87 years. He was born on November 5, 1921 in Oerle, Holland, where he married his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Wilhelmina. In 1953, he moved his growing family to Canada. While he spent most of his working life with the Calgary Transit Maintenance Department, Peter was able to continue his love for farming. His acreage enabled him to provide wonderful food for his seven children and thirty-four foster children. Peter's family was his life. He loved people and enjoyed striking up a conversation with anyone. Peter developed lasting relationships with old and new friends, great neighbours, and the people he worked with. Peter is lovingly remembered by his wife Wilhelmina; seven children Maria, Johanna (Dave) Thompson, Frank de Crom (Michelle), Betty (Theo) Jacobs, Theo (Kate) de Crom, Theresa (Kees) de Waal, Audrey (Matthew) Takoski; sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters Theresa and Dora and a younger brother Wim, in Holland and New Zealand. Peter was predeceased by four brothers and one sister.
