Peyton Timothy Philpot, age 21, from Dayton, Ohio and growing up for the last five years in Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away August 1, 2017. Peyton was a student at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, studying psychology and was active in the drama club. He graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in 2015 where he was a star football player. He loved movies and loved Batman from the time he was a toddler. He had an amazing sense of humor and was a beautiful soul who will be missed beyond words. The world is a little darker now without him in it. He leaves behind many friends who will never forget him- Sam, Erin, Joey, Stoner, Aaron, Jacob, Marcus, Austin, Mike, Danny, Tommy, Mitch, Noah, Zach, Joel and so many others. He was preceded by his maternal grandparents Carl and Lois Berry of Dayton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM, Monday, August 7, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, with calling 1 hour prior. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4 to 8pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls chapel 8325 Covington Road Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Burial will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 11:00 am, Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 N. Dixie Drive, Dayton, OH 45414. Memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Dwenger High School.

Very sorry for your loss. The road ahead will no doubt be difficult! Life will be different. Embrace your love ones and lean on your friends. Your reason for being has forever been altered and you won't ever be the same, however, once you accept that it's ok to not be the same, things will be easier to live with. Hugs to you and your family, Tim.

Peyton was a very humble, extremely gifted, and fierce athlete. He had the ability to pull the best out of his teammates while improving his game. Peyton was able to play any sport he chose, however, he excelled at football but to this coach was an even better basketball player. He held himself to a standard to out play his teammates as well as his opponents. He truly gave me 110 percent of his body and mind and totally bought into what I was teaching and preaching about the game of basketball. Peyton's team and I often talked about family and how important it was to accept each teammate for who they were and what they brought to the table concerning basketball. Each teammate was treated the same by me allowing them to know me not just as a coach but as a mentor, someone they could talk to about anything without prejudice. I treated this team as part of my family and yesterday my family began the process of losing one of the bright stars of the future. I will surely miss Peyton and only can pray that his immediate family can receive some closure during this very painful time. Coach James
