Phil Barrilleaux Obituary

Phil B. Barrilleaux, a native of Krotz Springs and a resident of Zachary, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the age of 86. He was a member of IBEW 995 of Baton Rouge. Phil was a member of Deerford Methodist Church in Zachary. Phil is survived by his three sisters, Vivalee Atkinson, Charleen Karlson and her husband, Rick, and Kathleen Barrilleaux; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty A. Barrilleaux; his parents; and his brothers, Johnny Barrilleaux, Hunter Barrilleaux, and Kenneth Barrilleaux. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 9 a.m. until Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Uncle Phil and Aunt Betty ( as we called them ) were our next door neighbors for yrs! Uncle Phil was best friends with my grandfather whom he called `Waterbury´ . What a fantastic couple!! We dined next door many many times & sang after supper as I played their old piano to the tune of Felina ( Marty Robins) They often sang "Sweet Violets" in perfect harmony. I can hear them now in my minds eyes/ears. Oh to see them again when tge Kingdom of God rules this earth and resurrects them to life again They were loved by all! esp my 2 boys Till we meet again

A great man. A wonderful "grandfather" role he played in my life since I lost mine at such a young age. He and Betty, although no kids of their own, had so many children and grandchildren that in the true way of Jesus, they took in and made their own. He will be missed dearly.
