To Carole and family:
I am deeply saddened to hear of Phil's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathies and condolences. He will surely be missed and words alone cannot describe the love and respect I held and felt for him. Phil was truly a special and genuine person, the Real McCoy, who played an integral part in the shaping of my life. He was a father figure, my friend and mentor who sincerely believed in me, and I loved him for it. Rest in peace there big guy, you will truly be missed. Your friend, Alain

30 years ago, I knew a man. His name was Philbert O'Hara.
You were an important part of my life when I was young, lost and confused.
You taught me many things about becoming a man.
You were patient with me.
You were generous with me.
You taught me excellent masonry skills.
You taught me wisdom and thought.
You taught me laughter and happiness and gratitude.
You were a part of my life when I needed a friend.
You gave me courage and faith.
I never forgot you. I will miss you.

Wherever you are, I know you are in a much better place looking down at all of us. Although you are no longer physically with us, you will forever remain in our hearts and your spirit will always be felt Phil!. Thank you for coming into our lives and enriching us. You were an amazing person that showed us all how to live life as a warrior and never give up. Your list of stories and accomplishments inspired us to settle for nothing less but the best and make the best of what you got, and we are sure you influenced many others along the way. You will always be remembered for your amazing stories, will to live and your loving contagious smile. If heaven is anything like we would imagine it to be, I'm sure you have access to plenty of your favorite things to drink and others :-)! If we had to do it all over again, we would still pick you to be our good friend and our brother-in-law. See you on the other side! Rest in Peace!

Dear Phil,
The only consolation for us loosing you as our great brother in law and a true and very loved friend is that we know you are in a better place now with your best friend that you longed to have beside you watching over your loved ones like you did in your life and finally no more pain. We said it before and we will say it again-Phil was the strongest willed person we will ever meet, we are honored to have known him and have him as a part of the family and as a friend- the world indeed lost a great man-this man had always a kind word and a positive attitude and he beat the odds so many times, we called him on it as he was the cat with 9 lives, every time he will beat the most serious illness over and over again and his saying -I am not ready yet- a hard worker and a master in the art of masonry like no other, he will come to help and work even with a broken back right after the surgery that kind of man Phil was- a man of his word and with healthy loving principles, a respected man, No BS and he did not like any BS either -straight forward and a real man and sweet gentlemen-respectful,loving and oh boy stubborn at times lol but all for the good of his family and the good of others, not for himself-no selfishness in his bones. He had the will to survive like no one we ever met and had so many reasons to live for but now he was ready, God needed a man like him by his side, and he had enough pain, and we know that his spirit will never ever leave his loved ones. We will greatly miss him and he will always be in our hearts. Now Phil is watching all of us with a cold one with his best friend who was waiting for him at the heaven's gate watching over us. Sincere heartfelt condolences to Phil family on both sides Cindy, Carole, Spencer, Ross and Elizabeth-Much love from Marc and Claudia Auger

My dear sweet Philster. How I will miss your smile, your jokes and quick comebacks. You were always there for me when I needed you, and always there to help out in your community. You were very wise, and loved life. I will strive to continue living my life as you did, full of wonder, wisdom and love. I will miss you more than you'll ever know. I feel like I've lost my safety blanket. You always hugged me warmy, told me exactly how it was but in a smooth soft spoken voice, and I'll really miss hearing you say "Hi kid", "Love you kid!" Until we meet again my sweet Philster. I love you! Rest now Philster, rest xo
