Philip Elmo Obituary

KITTERY—Philip Mark Elmo, 38 of 21 Manson Road in Kittery, died on December 9, 2011 at his home.

Born in Portsmouth, N. H. on July 6, 1973, he was the son of Joseph A. and the late Sheila (Blanchette) Bergeron.

Philip attended local schools, graduating from RW Traip Academy, where he enjoyed sports, filming and scoring, many of the team sports while he was in school.

Although he faced medical challenges every day, he lived his life with courage, and an unmatched determination, setting an example for many to follow.

He is survived by his father Joseph A. Elmo of Newmarket and his significant other Joan Fritz, his grandparents, Herman and Theresa Blanchette of Portsmouth, his aunts; Ellen Kaply, Gail and Dick Hudson, and Sandy and Tim Fitzgerald, uncles; Roy, Steven and Dean Elmo, great aunts Frances Bello, and Eileen " Cookie" Caswell, as well as several cousins.

An avid painter and cartoonist his work is enjoyed by many friends and family, he was an especially talented cartoonist, he enjoyed decorating pillow cases, ceramics and hand bags. He enjoyed being on the go, especially with his dad as they spent a lot of time together at the stage on Hampton Beach, local band stands, outside theaters and many outdoor sporting events throughout the years.

Growing up, he was a parishioner at the First Christian Church in Kittery Point.

Friends may visit with Philip's family on Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 6-8 p.m. at the JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road Kittery, Maine 03904.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec, 15 in his church, the First Christian Church in Kittery Point on Haley Road. A time of sharing and refreshment will follow in the Kelloway Chapel at the church.

Care for the Elmo family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
