Boynton Beach, - It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Martin Hanaka on April 15, 2025. He was a highly respected attorney, dedicated colleague and beloved family man. His passing was sudden and a shock to all.

As a Shareholder at Buchanan, Ingersoll and Rooney, Philip was a Member of the firm's Board of Directors leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, compassion and unwavering integrity. He was a trusted legal mind and a pillar within the firm and broader legal community. Phil was honored as one of America's Best Lawyers annually since 2019. Jim Newell, Buchanan's CEO, described him as "an icon in the firm, as the top real estate mind in Florida, and an exemplar of excellence."

Philip's expertise helped shape the skylines of numerous cities in Florida where we was entrusted to serve his clients in every sort of complex financial situation.

Phil will be remembered for his love of life, his caring approach, his humility and kindness. His passion for gourmet cooking and his girls is legend. He brought grace and wisdom wherever he traveled from the playing fields of Dartmouth to the Boardrooms of Florida.

Philip will be missed as a devoted Father, loving husband, and as a cherished son, sibling and friend.

He is survived by his wife Crystal, their daughter Madelyn, step-daughter Brooke, his son John as well as his Mother, Maria , his Father, Martin and his wife Nicole plus his siblings Marisa Di Biasio, Christopher, David, Chase and Cole.

The family requests that donations in his honor be directed to Legal Aid organizations.
