Philip Carl Parr, age 83, passed away December 24, 2023 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. A lifelong resident of Upstate New York, Phil graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1958, and earned his bachelor's and master's degree from Clarkson University. It was in Potsdam where he met his wife of 60 years, Patricia Ann Wilson. Phil is survived by daughter Carolyn Parr (Scott George), grandchildren Lee and Laurel Slack, step-grandson Ben George, sister Janis Stenbak, brother-in-law Preston Wilson (Beverly Hammons), sister-in-law Pamela Callahan (David), nieces and nephews Saul Stenbak (Carolyn), Jesse Stenbak (Tori), Emily Art (Seth), Paul Wilson, Raechel Callahan, and Keith Callahan (Jessie). He was preceded in death by wife Pat, brother-in-law Roger Stenbak, and parents Al and Peg Parr.

Phil enjoyed a happy childhood in Maine New York with a close circle of family and friends. Phil worked for Eastman Kodak for 30 years as an electrical engineer. He took early retirement in the 1990's and obtained a second degree in Art History. Over the years, Phil devoted his time to a multitude of hobbies, focused on local history, portrait painting, collecting and restoring antique furniture, and reading from his vast collection of books.

With wife Pat, Phil volunteered for a number of local organizations including the Genesee Country Village & Museum, the Big Springs Museum, and the Wheatland, Livingston and Ontario Historical Societies. Phil was especially proud of his home and many will remember his annual Solstice Party.

It is with sorrow that I just heard of Phil's passing. I will always fondly remember Phil as a terrific mentor to me as a young system engineer at Eastman Kodak. He taught me so much about system analysis and "briefing engineering". I have so many great memories of travels to the west coast with Phil and my other great mentor, Ken Leibold. Truly the fondest memories of my 40 year career. I also treasure memories of the Winter Solstice parties hosted by Phil and Pat. God bless you Phil, and Pat as well. May you rest in peace.

Phil was involved with the printing arts and had a love for letterpressed books. I worked as the printer in the Genesee Country Village for 8 years where he and Patty would come by and visit me. he was a very fine person and will be missed.
