Philip RILEY Obituary
August 22, 1950 – June 25, 2015
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Phil at Lion's Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. Predeceased by his parents Leslie and Ida Riley, his brother Mike and his sister Pat. Phil was born in Vancouver and lived in the Lower Mainland most of his life. He will be remembered with great love by his wife Joanie; son Greg (Krystal); daughters Nikki, Dawn (Manny), Taryn (Cory) and Tricia (Stacey); stepchildren Tracy, Rodney (Samantha) and Steven (Krys); 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many more extended family and friends too many to name. Phil had many passions including golf, travel and people, and his quick wit and personality will be missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club at 3811 Point Grey Road in Vancouver on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

It has been a privaledge to have known you and you will be sadly missed. I will miss the many hours of Skype while we played Backgammon, Canasta, & even crib on line. You were in many ways my rock, shoulder to lean on. You were always there with the boot &/or the hug, and you always knew which I needed 1st. You reminded me many times of my own strengths & always encouraged me. I will greatly miss my friend and all the fun times we shared and when in doubt will look up for your smile & that "do I really need to say it" look.

Goodbye my good friend Phil. Many lovely memories of the time we spent together in Vancouver and Southern California 10 years ago and the conversations and emails since. You were a shoulder to lean on in a difficult time in my life and an interesting and intelligent guy to chat to. I will be forever grateful and will always remember.Loving wishes to Joanie and all his children.
