Mr. Philip Louis Ruppert, a popular local attorney, passed away at the age of 73, Monday, April 16, 2007 at the Henry Medical Center. Mr. Ruppert was well respected and loved by all local attorneys, Judges, and the local Police Department. Mr. Bowman said that Philip Ruppert was a lawyer�s lawyer. Mr. Ruppert was born in 1933 in Manhattan, New York to the late Henry William and Philippine Gertrude Freese Ruppert. He was preceded in death by his son, Philip Louis Ruppert, Jr. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1951-1954 and considered it a life changing experience. He not only was a diehard Marine, but he felt the call to serve others. He graduated from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta in 1975. Mr. Ruppert has dedicated his life and the last 32 years serving his fellow man. He handled thousands of clients regardless whether they had money or not. He cared for every client as if it were his own son or daughter. Mr. Ruppert�s wife was his soul mate, partner and constant companion. Their clients loved them for who they were and what they gave to everyone. The lives of all people who met or knew Philip Ruppert were made better because of this man. Mr. Ruppert had retired and moved to Florida in 1997 but moved back to Georgia in 2001. He loved tennis. He loved the Yankees. He was involved in theatrical productions in Florida and with Henry County Players. Mr. Ruppert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Ruppert is survived by his soul mate and partner, Dianne Ruppert of Stockbridge; children, Renee and Ken Staples of Lawrenceville, Darlene Godwin of Jefferson, Kelly Ruppert of Jefferson, Michael Mullinax of Indian Harbour, FL, Cindy and Rob Hargis of Knoxville, TN, Sheila Ruppert and Kim Shaffer of Indian Harbour, FL, Philip (Beau) Ruppert III of McDonough; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brother, Henry (Bud) Ruppert of Deland, FL; sister, Eleanor Coady of Buford; numerous nieces and nephews; and his great friend, partner, and confidant, Gary Bowman. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Pastor David Riley, Judge Arch McGarity and Mr. Gary Bowman will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 2:00 � 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
