Mr. Phillip David Duda, Sr., age 80, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Marietta, Georgia, on January 5, 1945, David was the son of the late Mary Jane Clemons and Earl Troy Duda. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Earl Duda and John Duda. (The brothers were lovingly known to family as Porky, Mickey, and Bugs)

David proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later in the United States Army Reserves. Following his military service, he built a distinguished career with the Federal Aviation Administration, where he dedicated 33 years and was honored with the prestigious Kitty Hawk Award for excellence.

A man of many passions, David was an avid auto enthusiast who loved the thrill of the races, the peace of fishing, and the joy of being with his family. Nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the lights of his life.

Faith played a central role in David's life. He was a longtime member and Deacon of Griffin Bible Church, FKA: Bible Baptist Church of Griffin, where he served faithfully and formed lifelong friendships.

David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest legacy is the love he poured into his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol Koutlas Duda; his children, David Duda Jr., Lisa Duda Mayo, Emily Brannon, Amanda Day, and Tara Koutlas, along with their spouses; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at Griffin Bible Church on Sunday the 28th day of September 2025 at 14:00.

Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 W. McIntosh Road, Griffin, Georgia, is in charge of arrangements.
