SKOTAREK, GERALD 70 - of Cape May Court House, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his home. Born in Chicago, IL to the late George and Helen (Szopinski) Skotarek, he moved here in 1992 from Burlington County. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from a career of over twenty years from the U.S. Army in 1976. He was then employed by the State of New Jersey as a Head Cottage Training Supervisor. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, yardwork, and birds. Mr. Skotarek is survived by his wife, Lindamay M. Skotarek; his daughters, Linda Howe, Dawn (Perkins) Pietrzykowski, and Gay Lynn Perkins; his sons, Thommis Skotarek, Stephen S. Perkins, Jr., and Troy B. Perkins; his sister, Yvonne V. Skotarek of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren; and numerous extended family. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, New Jersey. To Linda and family, I am sorry to here about the lost of your husband. Life is never long enough and time goes by so quickly, but I hope you and your family will be able to celebrate the life you had with Gerry.
