Just learned of Miss Arnold's passing which brought back fond memories of her interest in her students in the early days at Franklin Junior High. She helped make those years happy and memorable. I am grateful to her for her positive influence on my life.

Phoebe was a guiding light in my life as a guidance councelor at Northeast and then a friend. She always encouraged me to do better and to set my goals high. I will never forget the many nights at the Starrett's home with Father Joe, Larry Persa and other friends that would stop by for some good fellowship. She was a true Angel and will continue to be in heaven.

Phoebe was an angel. She was like an aunt to my brothers and I, and she was my oldest brother's Godmother. She was always ready with an encouraging word for whatever activity we were involved in. She will be greatly missed. I hope she has lots of lighthouses and seagulls to enjoy in the afterlife.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Phoebe's family. Phoebe was a kind, generous and loving individual.
She was a close friend of our family and a guiding force to myself and my brothers while growing up. Phoebe was also very interested in the activities we participated in. I don't think she ever missed a band concert at Liberty High School, even after she retired from teaching. She assisted my brother and I in completeing many school assignments, the skills she taught still being used today. Phoebe was an avid sports fan- particularly Baseball, Football and Wrestling. I remember going to some of The NOrtheast Wrestling matches and football games and watching her cheer her students! A true Joy, she will sadly be missed.

Miss Arnold was one among many wonderful teachers that taught me at Northeast Junior High School. She was my seventh grade guidance counselor. Phoebe followed all the team sports, and cheered for us, home and away. What an inspiration she was as she sat with Mrs. Matus, and watched us go undefeated in football, and 9-3 in basketball. She also attended the wrestling matches. I am sure that that staff was highly influental in my learning, my career as a teacher, and my values even today. God bless her.

Phoebe was the sweetest kindest most loving and nurturing soul I ever met. She bought me a Joy of Cooking cookbook in 1974 when her hephew and I were engaged, and I use it all the time, cherishing my wonderful memories of her. We had such great times together with her and Aunt Ann and Uncle Bill and their sons and their freinds, where we formed a life-long bond that was never broken. We renewed our freindship a few years ago, for which i will be forever grateful. Phoebe was an angel here on earth and I am blessed for having known and loved her.
